So...got paid on Friday, and right away I shot off for Sam The Record Man, downtown...the only place to go when you need obscure music...

$120 was spent on 3 cd's....but it's damn worth it!

1. The Spinners: Live From The Latin Casino, 1974

God...what can I say?? Really gorgeous, slick, creamy soul...and at a casino to boot. You can almost smell the polyester on this release...

2. Judy Garland: Duets/Closing Night, Palace 1952

Nobody sings like this woman...she can tear the heart out of even the most hardened criminal, I swear. This collection has her trading vibratos with the likes of Tony Bennett, Streisand, Ethel Merman, Lena Horne, Peggy Lee...incredible arrangements, and Judy is in great voice throughout...

3.Klezmer Conservatory Band:

Dance Me To The End Of Love

The best Klezmer band out there...for those who don't know, klezmer is traditional Jewish music...really lively and joyous at times, almost frantic....but then it can be really slow, mournful...weeping...this is incredible music, and these are incredible musicians...

I can't go on spending like this....I'm going to end up living in a Leon's fridge box....or in a cabin in the Smokey Mountains with some fat bald guy named Fiddleback Jack.... :) (JP...for you!)
